During an initial consultation we learn and understand your situation and talk through how you would like us to help you going forward. The initial consultation can last anywhere from 60 to 90 mins. This is your opportunity to ask questions about therapy going forward. We will discuss the format of ongoing sessions but there is no obligation to book future sessions.
Please note that after this initial consultation it may be deemed that we are unable to help you due to the nature of your situation. If this is the case we will suggest alternative services that may be of assistance to you.
Ongoing sessions can be either face to face or via email (where deemed appropriate and agreed after initial consultation). These sessions will last 55mins. We will continually review how the sessions are going with no obligation to book further sessions.
Please note that no particular outcome can be guaranteed from our meetings. The Affair Clinic take no liability for any loss incurred by you, whether financial or otherwise, following our provision of the services, nor for any perceived failure by you, whether justified or otherwise, to achieve your desired objectives.
If we mutually agree that email is an appropriate form of therapy for you going forward these can be booked at a cost of £80 a session, payable in advance. A block of 4 email responses can be booked at a cost of £280 (please allow 5 days between in each response). We commit to spending at least 60 mins reading through your email and preparing a response. Please remember when sending your email that the hour includes the time reading and digesting your email.
LATENESS AND CANCELLATION
If you are late for a session we can only offer you the remaining time left from your original session time. If we are late we will either make up the time or reimburse you accordingly.
If you cancel a session with less than 48 hours notice you will forfeit the cost of the session. With more than 48 hours notice we can re-arrange the session but we are unable to offer refunds. We will give you as much notice as practically possible if we need to change your appointment slot.
Your confidentiality is of utmost importance to us.
We treat all personal information supplied by you as strictly confidential. Whilst no details will be given to third parties such as employers, GPs or other family members, in exceptional circumstances, such as a risk of harm to yourself or others or child protection issues it would be necessary to disclose this information in-line with our ethical, professional and legal duty.
By providing personal information such as your name and email address via the forms on our website, you agree to us contacting you regarding the information you request.
As part of ethical and good practice a therapist is required to have clinical supervision. We will never use names or any personal information that could identify any of our clients during such sessions.
